Discovering Lake Albano

Lake Albano is one of the most suggestive places in the province of Rome and in the whole Lazio region. It is the fourth volcanic basin of Lazio for extension and the deepest with its 168 meters. Together with the nearby Lake Nemi, Lake Albano forms the volcanic complex of the Colli Albani.

On its shores have been found interesting archaeological remains both prehistoric and Roman. One of these is the Villaggio delle Macine. Do not miss the complex of the Villa of Domitian, which stands here in Castel Gandolfo, a charming town of the Castelli Romani, from which you can admire Lake Albano in all its splendor, even with a view from above, from the historic village.
